Biden or Trump: Who Demonstrates Control?

At the present time, Joe Biden is President of the United States and Donald Trump is the former president, but let’s consider a few facts and review several events of the past week or two. First, let’s consider former President Donald Trump…

Recently the Senate impeachment trial was held, with the House Managers presenting their case. Their goals were conviction and prevention of Trump from holding elected office in the future. In spite of their dishonesty and manipulation of evidence, Trump won – for the second time. House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Schumer were livid and so was Senate Minority Leader McConnell, in spite of the fact that he voted to acquit.

Next, Right Side Broadcasting drew a sizeable viewing audience to cover a rally of at least 1,000 Trump supporters (likely more) who gathered along a main street in West Palm Beach, Florida to celebrate Presidents Day. Later, a small motorcade made its way through the crowd, with President Trump expressing his thanks by waving to the crowd, most of whom were quite boisterous in their support and enthusiasm.

On Tuesday of this week, President Trump released a highly critical letter exposing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as a political weasel. I’m not sure I have ever seen such a scathing attack on someone of the same political party. Trump wrote, “The Republican Party can never again be respected or strong with political ‘leaders’ like Sen. Mitch McConnell at its helm… He doesn’t have what it takes, never did, and never will… Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again…”

Yesterday (Wednesday), President Trump joined Fox News and NewsMax by phone to talk about the passing of radio personality and American patriot Rush Limbaugh. The president was thoughtful and articulate as he lauded Limbaugh for his work, as well as touching on a few other issues.

Now, let us consider the recent activities of President Joe Biden. What has he done as president? By some estimates, he has signed 52 executive orders, many of which were designed to undo the policies and accomplishments of President Trump. And some of them have done significant harm to the American people, especially related to the economy and jobs.

Next, there are non-scalable fences erected around the vital government buildings in Washington, DC. National Guard troops are stationed around the perimeter and to visitors, it must seem as though they are in a foreign nation ruled by despots. You might remember the criticism and the outcry about protective barriers in DC last summer when the riots were taking place. Strange, there seems to be very little question or controversy today!

Joe Biden’s Washington: quite a contrast to the recent Tampa rally

The visit to Wisconsin this week by President Biden was for the purpose of discussing Coronavirus relief and his 1.9 Trillion dollar aid package. He spoke at a town hall meeting to answer questions and make his pitch, designed to pressure Republicans to support the bill, but Biden is not a gifted communicator. Without prepared statements and a teleprompter, he struggles at times to make complicated points in a way that people can understand. He has a hard time making a persuasive argument and when he should give a sound bite, he has a tendency to ramble. He also claimed that there was no COVID vaccine when he took office, an obvious mistake.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris is the one making phone calls to foreign leaders. Why is this? Is the president so busy that he does not have time? Or is it closer to the truth that Biden’s handlers are fearful of what he might say? Perhaps the recent call to President Putin did not go so well. We would all love to know. However, it was reported yesterday (Wednesday) that Biden had a phone conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel. Perhaps we will learn more at an upcoming press briefing.

Former President Trump has been mostly quiet of late, but he was able to defeat his Democrat foes, build on his high level of popularity, flex some rather solid political muscle, and begin to make clearly spoken public statements. By contrast, President Biden mostly fulfills only simple tasks and makes news by playing Mario Kart, has managed to make Americans angry (including portions of his base), maintains barriers around the Capitol for unclear reasons, and allows Vice President Harris to fulfill traditional presidential duties.

Surely we could see this coming, but which of these men is demonstrating true leadership? Which one is really in control of his own situation? The questions are valid and should be deeply considered by every American.
