Uncomfortable? Hardly!

“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” – Psalm 94:16

During this month of June, a rather forthright meme statement has been floating around social media and perhaps some blog posts as well. Posted by some members of the alphabet community and perhaps a few of their supporters, the statement reads as follows:

A message from the Alphabet Community to traditionalists who want to protect their children

The two key words are homophobes and uncomfortable. Broken down, the word homophobe can be defined as one who has an irrational fear of homosexuals. This is the literal definition, but the word implies a bit more. In the context of the complete statement, homophobe describes anyone who does not wholeheartedly endorse and support the alphabet community lifestyle and their stated goals. The word uncomfortable is clearly understood without need for further interpretation.

There are few, if any, Christians or traditionalists who have any fear or phobia concerning the alphabet community. However, there are some within this rather small subset of society who are attempting to influence children – even the youngest of these little ones – to accept perversion as a lifestyle choice. This must never be tolerated.

There is a war underway for the innocence and for the very souls of our young people. When a wicked crowd of perverted men march in our largest city, loudly shouting repetitively and in unison, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children,” we must take them seriously. They want your children and grandchildren. They demand to have them sexually and they demand that you accept their demands without question and that you keep your mouth shut. The biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah has come to America.

Whether it’s pornographic materials in schools, drag queen story hours for children in public libraries, or puberty blockers and body-altering mutilations for minors, these sordid and disgusting efforts of the alphabet community and their allies must be vigorously confronted and strongly opposed using every legal and non-violent method available.

This writer’s perspective must not be misunderstood. Those who live in opposition to God’s creative design need the truth of the Gospel lovingly presented and helpful assistance to enable them to overcome their unbiblical lifestyle. However, the morally deviant and socially destructive efforts of those who seek to harm children through the promotion of wickedness must be defeated.

“In the name of our God we will set up our banners” – Psalm 20:5

The homophobe meme depicted above is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate and silence people of good conscience. Do not allow it. Be prepared to engage the opposing side in thoughtful conversation. State the truth clearly, firmly, and with conviction.

What else can be done in a practical sense? First, ignore events such as pride parades and drag queen story hours. Encourage others to do the same. The alphabet community thrives on attention, so refuse to provide that which they most desire. Second, join boycotts whenever possible. There are plenty of retail outlets from which to choose, so spend your dollars in locations that reflect your values. Third, use your voice in well-reasoned discourse. Tell the truth and discuss these matters with others.

There are times when people of moral conscience must take a principled stand for that which is right and holy. Take your stand boldly on behalf of the children who need our protection and then trust the Lord to grant the victory!
